Make the controls yours
Use a touch screen, keyboard, mouse or trackpad in the way that feels natural.
Choose a touch mode
- Trackpad: slide to move the pointer; tap to click. Useful for precise desktop work.
- Touch: the pointer goes directly where you touch.
- Pen: like Touch, with dragging holding the mouse button down.
- Fixed View: Trackpad control without zooming or panning the view.
- Gaming: relative pointer movement for games and 3D camera control.
- View Only: watch without sending input.

Pinch Zooms Host Apps sends finger pinches to the remote app instead of zooming your view. A connected trackpad pinches host apps. Natural Scrolling changes direction; Touch Circle helps target small buttons.
Keyboard and pointer escape
On iPad, Option-Tab can switch remote apps while iPadOS keeps Command-Tab. Shift-Command-Option-P toggles pointer lock; hold Esc to release it. On Mac, Control-Option-Command-Esc returns captured shortcuts to the local Mac. On Windows, Ctrl-Alt-Shift-Esc returns local control; Ctrl-Alt-End sends Ctrl-Alt-Delete remotely.
Accessories
Mouse and trackpad accessories work as pointers. On supporting viewers, controller presets can translate input to WASD and mouse movement, or navigation keys. Controller passthrough requires host support. Apple Pencil pressure and tilt are implemented for Mac apps. Windows and Linux desktop viewers do not currently offer gamepad forwarding.
