Give your work more room
Fit the desktop to your device, switch screens or add a second view.
Pick a resolution
Match This Device adjusts the remote display to fit the viewer when the host supports it. Sharpest emphasizes clarity. More Space fits more content but makes text smaller. The host's screen shape may change while connected.
Same as Computer Display leaves the host's shape as it is and scales it to fit. This can leave black bars. Custom chooses a particular size; Retina draws more detail and uses more network.
Two displays
On supported viewers, Two Displays shows two host screens, or two computers side by side. Move the pointer across the middle or select the half you want to control. This feature requires Pro and increases network use.
Fill Each Half reshapes the displays to their available space. Keeping the computer's shape preserves its aspect ratio but may leave empty space.
An external monitor on iPad
- Computer on the Monitor: the remote computer fills the monitor; the iPad becomes its trackpad and keyboard.
- Mirror This Device: both screens show the same view.
- Two Screens: put one view on iPad and another on the monitor, where supported. Set Monitor Position to match where it sits.
With Stage Manager, move a session window to the monitor. Leave Overscan at None unless the display cuts off picture edges.
Protected video
Streaming-service movies and shows may appear black or grey because protected video cannot be captured. To watch on your viewer, use the service's own app. To keep it playing on the host, choose Same as Computer Display, leave Privacy Mode off and keep the video on the host's physical screen.
Display capabilities vary. Windows and Linux desktop viewers do not currently offer two computers side by side, several simultaneous displays or HDR.
