Your first connection

Pair your devices, allow the permissions you need, and open your computer.

Two devices, one workspace

The host is the computer you want to control. The viewer is the device in front of you. FoldThrough on Mac, Windows and Linux combines both roles in one app. iPhone, iPad and Android act as viewers.

Pair on your local network

  1. Open FoldThrough on the host and turn on sharing. On Windows, look under This PC; on Linux, use This Computer.
  2. On Mac, use the menu-bar app to allow Screen Recording, which shares the picture, and Accessibility, which receives keyboard and pointer input. Allow Local Network access when prompted.
  3. Open FoldThrough on your viewer, connected to the same local network. Select the host under On This Network. You can also use Add Computer with its address.
  4. Compare the six-digit code on both devices. Approve the request at the host only when the codes match and you recognize the device.
  5. Your computer is saved. Connect, then open the session settings to adjust picture, sound and controls.

Choose a starting point

For everyday work, begin with Standard, Balanced picture and 60 fps. Try 75% Stream Size if the connection struggles. Extreme is an option for a stable, high-capacity connection, rather than a requirement for local use.

Connecting away from home

Account sign-in is designed to find your computers across networks. Sign in with the same account on both devices. The host must remain online, and remote access depends on network and connection-service availability. Local pairing works without an account.

Use the build or installer supplied for your platform. Public download links will appear when releases are available; this guide does not imply store availability.
